As I child I had a hematoma on the brain, fractured skull & almost died.  I have a plate (I am not sure but I think it is made of plastic & silicone?) & occassionally I feel it, it bothers me.  I am reading and wondering what lingering effects if any it can have on me now?  Is it possible? Fatigue , memory, concentration issues, migraines, depression or anxiety?  I am new here, any input is appreciated!

Mine aren't 30 years old...I suffered head trauma in the form of abuse from my mother 26 years ago that lasted for 5 years, of course that never was treated. I then was in a car accident 10 years ago and that was again never treated. Dealing with the memory, learning issues, concentration and attention difficulties that were major differences after so long were finally just getting to me.

I am finally getting treated for MTBI, just diagnosed over 2 months ago. I am having some drug therapy, which I'm not fond of due to been used a lab rat in the past with mis-diagnosed mood disorders after the accident. I am thinking you have a legitimate possibility. A lot of the issues never go away, you just learn to cope with them. My psychiatrist recommended "Coping with Mild Traumatic Brain Injury" by Diane Roberts Stoler, Ed. D., I have learned so much! She suffered a major stroke and along with experts in the field this wonderful guide was made.

I hope this helps!
